Cacao Tasting in Ronda Discover the World of Cacao

1 hour (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

It is not a conventional chocolate tasting. It is a guided immersion into the world of cocoa, from its origin and history to the cup. We work directly with producers from Peru and Ecuador and know the origin of the cocoa we taste.
We will compare three 100% pure chocolates to discover how their aromas, flavors, and sensations change according to their variety, territory, and production. We will also share what we learned on your trips to the producing areas, where we met the farms, the families who grow cocoa, and the processes behind each origin.
You will learn to recognize a quality cocoa, what to look for when choosing it, and the differences between pure cocoa, ceremonial cocoa, and the chocolate we usually consume. A close experience, in small groups, where you can try, ask, compare, and discover cocoa from a different perspective.

What to expect

Discover cocoa through a guided tasting in your space in the center of Ronda. You will try different 100% pure chocolates from Peru and Ecuador and learn to recognize their aromas, flavors, and differences.
We will go through the history of cocoa: where it originated, how it spread around the world, and what differentiates one cocoa from another. We will talk about varieties, territories, and how to choose a cocoa according to what we are looking for, both in terms of its characteristics and the experience we want to have with it.
You will also learn the entire cocoa journey, from the tree and the pod to the seed, fermentation, drying, and its final transformation into cocoa paste or chocolate. A sensory experience to try, ask, compare, and discover everything a cup of cocoa can hide.
