I’m a Sumida local who loves this neighborhood and meeting people from around the world!

Tokyo Skytree is amazing, but there’s so much more to Sumida! From old-school shopping streets and local food to hidden alleys and riverside views, I’d love to show you the places I know and love.

Think of this tour less as a typical sightseeing experience and more like hanging out with a local friend! We can explore traditional neighborhoods, discover tasty local food, learn a few fun stories about Japanese culture, take awesome photos, or simply just wander around and see what catches our attention.

There’s no need to stick to a strict plan! Whether you love history, food, photography, or simply exploring, we’ll customize the experience to match your interests.

Since I live in Sumida, I can share the little details and local places that you might miss when exploring on your own.

Please meet me at Solamachi Square on the 1st floor of Tokyo Solamachi, near Tokyo Skytree. Look for the open plaza with the fountain and monument. I'll share a photo of the exact meeting spot before the tour. I will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name on it!

    Tokyo Skytree

    We’ll start our adventure near Tokyo Skytree! I’ll introduce the history of this famous landmark, share interesting facts about the surrounding area, and show you some great photo spots. I’ll also take photos of you with Skytree as a backdrop. Let’s begin by getting to know each other and discovering the local side of Sumida!

    We’ll explore TOKYO mizumachi, a beautiful riverside area of Sumida. Enjoy the waterfront scenery, unique architecture, and hidden photo spots along the way. I’ll share local stories and introduce nearby attractions, We can also stop at a nostalgic Japanese game center for some fun!

    Sumida Park

    Let’s take a walk through Sumida Park, located along the Sumida River. Enjoy the slow atmosphere of the park. You’ll also have time to take photos and experience, more local side of Tokyo away from the busy tourist spots.

    Mimeguri Shrine

    We’ll visit Mimeguri Shrine, a historic Shinto shrine in the Mukojima area of Sumida. You’ll learn about the shrine’s history and its connection to the local community. This is a great opportunity to discover Japanese traditions!

    Let’s explore Kirakira Tachibana Shopping Street, a traditional shopping street We’ll walk past some local shops, discover traditional Japanese foods, and learn about the neighborhood’s unique culture. I’ll share my favorite local spots and food recommendations along the way, helping you experience nostalgic atmosphere of Sumida beyond the usual tourist attractions.

    Mukojima Hyakkaen

    Let’s take a break from the usual tourist route and explore Mukojima-Hyakkaen Garden like a local. This garden is in a quiet neighborhood of Sumida. As we wander along its paths, I’ll take photos of you surrounded by plants and beautiful scenery. It’s a chance to slow down, enjoy nature, and experience the charm of Sumida beyond Skytree.
