  Even though the history of Berlin Cathedral, or Berliner Dom as it is called in German, is the largest protestant church in Germany, started in 1465, its construction was completed in the 19th century.   The core of the political system and power of Germany is the Reichstag building, since in here the German parliament is housed. Later, its capture by the Soviet army marked the end of WWII and the victory over the Nazis.

It is A symbol of the Cold War era, as well as of the time Berlin lived as a city divided by a Wall, it served as a single-person crossing-point from West Berlin into East Berlin and vice versa.
