7Gran Mezquita de Tanger

Following the Muslim conquest, it became a mosque, before being converted into a church during the Portuguese and English periods. After Sultan Moulay Ismail recaptured Tangier in 1684, it was returned to Muslim worship. 8Tangier American Legation Museum

It served as an American diplomatic post for approximately 140 years. 9Tangier Casbah
