Chittorgarh fort, one of India’s biggest forts, is a recognised world heritage site. The fort, which is presently located in Chittorgarh, was once Mewar’s capital. It is one of the most significant historical forts in all of north India, and it is filled with heroic and selfless narratives. Additionally, it accurately portrays Rajput culture and beliefs. One of the most significant locations to see in Chittorgarh is this fort.
The pride of the Rajasthani town, this mediaeval fort sits imposingly on a hill, guardingly looking down over the city. The fort is where the majority of Chittorgarh’s attractions are located. The Chittorgarh Fort is a huge edifice that was initially constructed in the 7th century and occupies a space of around 700 acres.

Morning pick up from Udaipur and drive to Chittorgarh fort which takes around 1.5 hours. Chittorgarh Fort which is capital of Mewar still preserves several palaces, memorial towers and monumental gates. According to legend, a love affair of Sultan Alauddin Khalji may have been the trigger for this important military operation. Chittorgarh Fort, which sprawls over the hill 180 meters in height over an area of 280 ha above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort has several historical palaces, gates, a temple & two prominent commemorative towers. Legend has it that Alauddin Khilji, who was the first to sack Chittor, was so besotted by the regal beauty of Rani Padmini that he was overpowered by a desire to possess her. But the noble queen preferred death over dishonor and committed "Jauhar" (mass self-immolation). After having visiting Chittorgarh Fort, enjoy lunch at a nice restaurant. Later, drive back to Udaipur with taking beautiful memories along with you.
