Being remote from human habitation and almost alien to modern civilization makes the Danum Valley Conservation Area is a naturalists’ paradise.
Sabah's largest protected lowland rainforest, the area has 43,800 hectares of pristine and undisturbed tropical flora and fauna. This vibrant rainforest is also home to more than 340 species of birds, 124 species of mammals, 72 species of reptiles, 56 species of amphibians and a staggering 200 species of plants per hectare. The Danum Valley Conservation Area is also flagged as an Important Birds Area (IBA); IBAs are sites of international importance for conserving birds and other biodiversity. Meet and greet at Lahad Datu Airport. After registration, depart for scenic drive to Menara Kayangan, located on Mount Silam and offering panoramic views of Darvel Bay. Continue to Tumunong Hallu Jetty for boat ride to Blue Rings Reef, the only known double Blue Hole in Malaysia. *Snorkel among vibrant coral gardens with marine life (refer remarks). Enjoy seaside lunch and some leisure time by the beach. Afterward, journey inland to Danum Valley Danum Valley Conservation Area • Snorkeling at Blue Rings Reef: Blue Rings Reef is an open water environment. To ensure your safety, a valid Open Water Diving License is required. All participants will receive a comprehensive safety briefing before entering the water. Snorkeling activity is restricted to adults only; 12years and above.

Dinner at the Lodge. Begin your rainforest experience with a guided activity in the dark, either on a Night Walk or Night Drive (to choose one activity)

Enjoy the morning jungle trek to the Kadazan-Dusun burial site known as the “Coffin Cliffs and the “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of the area. Soak in the “Jacuzzi Pool” at the pristine rainforest stream.

In the afternoon, either choose a guided trek to the treetop “Canopy Walkway” 360m in length and 27m at the highest point for a close-up observation of the rainforest, go for a relaxing session of ‘tubing’ down the Danum River, Or participate in indoor cultural experiences.

Enjoy a Night Walk or Night Drive in search of nocturnal animals after dinner. (to choose one activity).
