Taman Negara has been developed into an ecotourism destination in Malaysia. Has a total area of 4,343 km2 and one of the oldest rainforest estimated more than 130 million years old. Taman Negara is the home of some rare mammals, such as the Malayan tiger, macaque, Malayan gaur (seladang) and Indian elephant. As well as birds such as the great argus, red junglefowl, and the rare Malayan peacock-pheasant are still found here in some numbers. Enjoy the activities of Jungle trekking, canopy walk, river cruises and also visiting one of the Orang Asli tribe, the Batek native.

    Day 1

    Kuala Lumpur – Labu Sentral Jetty – By boat to Taman Negara - Night Walk

    Kuala Lumpur

    Meet at the lobby between 06.30am to 07.00am to be transferred to the shuttle coach for your 3hrs journey to Labu Sentral Jetty. Enjoy your 2hrs boat journey passing by local villages and lush tropical rainforest to the National Park, Taman Negara. Spot kingfishers, hornbills, monkeys, monitor lizards or water buffaloes along the river. Upon arrival at the park, soak in the jungle atmosphere surrounding the Resort. Register with the National Park and Wildlife Department after check-in.

    After dinner, at 2030 hrs meet your guide at the Resort’s reception for a brief orientation introduction. Enjoy a night jungle walk looking out for nocturnal plants and insects amidst the chorus of the rainforest. Do note however, sighting of wildlife in the tropical forest due to its density, is a bonus.

    Trek to Teresek Hill , Canopy Walk and by boat to Lata Berkoh in the afternoon

    Enjoy a 1½ hours trek up Teresek Hill and be rewarded with a magnificent view of the tropical rainforest at the top. On a clear day, you can see Mount Tahan, the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia.

    Taman Negara Canopy Walkway

    Continue your adventure with a canopy walkway (closed on Friday), built 40 meters above the ground and 530 meters in length. Experience the rainforest from a different perspective, as you get closer to the top of the trees!

    In the afternoon (after lunch), take boat ride to the cataracts of Lata Berkoh enjoying the splendid pristine jungle scenery along the way. Swim, relax or read amidst the serene atmosphere.

    Rapid Shooting to Kuala Trenggan & Visit to Orang Asli Settlement

    Morning at leisure until lunch time. In the afternoon, embark on a boat ride for an exhilarating rapid shooting adventure to Kuala Trenggan at Sungai Tembeling. Visit a Bateq Native Settlement (subject to availability), learn about their simple and peaceful life of sharing and other interesting culture including hunting with a blowpipe.

    Resort - Kuala Tahan - Return to Kuala Lumpur by land

    Breakfast and at leisure. At 1.00pm assemble at resort jetty. Take a short boat ride to cross to the opposite side of the river to Kuala Tahan Jetty. At 1.30p.m. departs Kuala Tahan by land transfer to Kuala Lumpur. Expected arrival time to Kuala Lumpur between 1800hrs to 1900hrs.
