What to expect

Ready to learn some Mandarin and taste your way through Chengdu? We'll kick things off at Exit D of Liangjia Xiang Metro Station, where your guide will be waiting to take you on a local experience like no other.

First up: we'll dive straight into a bustling local market! You'll get to explore the vibrant stalls, chat with friendly vendors, and sample fresh seasonal fruits along with classic Chinese snacks like peanuts and sunflower seeds. It's the perfect real-world introduction to local life — and a fun sneak peek of the language practice to come.

After working up an appetite for learning, we'll head to a cozy tea house for your survival Mandarin crash course. No worries if you're a total beginner — in about an hour of fun, hands-on practice, you'll be surprised how easy it is to start chatting. We'll cover the basics: introducing yourself, ordering food, hailing a taxi, and those must-know phrases like "不好意思" (excuse me) and "谢谢" (thank you).

A mix of culture, food, and a little bit of Mandarin — what's not to love?
