Walk from the meeting place to the center of one of the largest public plazas in the world, begin to learn about the prehispanic founding of this city
See the ruins of the prehispanic temple, buried under the colonial city. You may choose to enter the site museum with your guide, or see it from the outside. Either way, your guide will give as much history and details as you want and will be able to answer your questions. If you enter the museum, figure on spending an hour and half. If you see it from the outside, 20 minutes is enough
Visit the Cathedral, again either from the outside only or enter with your guide, as you prefer. Learn about how Catholicism was introduced into this area and how prehispanic gods were incorporated into the new religion.
Walk through Centro, from the Zócalo area to the Palacio de Bellas Artes. You may choose to stop along the way for coffee, ice cream, or some other snack. There are also historical sites along the way: Palacio de Iturbide, Casa de los Azulejos, Palacio Postal. You may choose to visit these, or go straight to Palacio de Bellas Artes. Learn about the history and enjoy the architecture and murals by Mexico's principal muralists including Rivera, Siquieros, Orozco and Tamayo.
Walk through this colonial-era park, to reach Reforma Avenue. Take a nice city bus, or if you prefer to take a taxi with your guide, to Chapultepec Park.
This world-class museum would take two days to see completely! With your guide, enter and visit two or three halls of your choice. Your guide will accompany you at all times and give you the history in a way that is easy to absorb and enjoy. If you spend less time in the museum, you can spend time in Chapultepec Park with your guide.
