Day 1
Surabaya - Tumpak Sewu waterfalls - Malang

We will pick you up at 05:00 where ever you are in Surabaya. That can be the train station, hotel or any accommodation.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall
You will need about 4 hours to reach Lumajang area. It is not the distance, but Java's traffic conditions that will slow you down.  After the car parks, you will start your hike with a local guide along an uneven path. It's a 10-minute walk to the panoramic viewpoint. Enjoy the fresh air. Be ready to get wet as you hike down to the bottom of the waterfall. We suggest you to wear a water shoes as the path is rocky and slippery with water flowing. You cannot swim as it is just small puddles. Don't miss the Tetes cave. "Tetes" means water drops from the ceiling, and the cave is filled with fascinating stalagmites. When you're ready to leave, head back to your car, where our driver will be waiting to take you to Malang city in 2 hours driving. If time is sufficient and you feel up to it, you can visit Jodipan Colorful Village.

One of Malang's highlights is Kampong Jodipan. When you arrived by train, you most probably already got a glimpse of it. Kampong Jodipan is also known under the name kampong Warna-warni. It was a project to improve the kampong's performance. In addition to the increased awareness of sanitation, the tourists that visit this village also have an impact on people's economy. In the afternoon, you will stay overnight at your hotel in Malang.

Day 2
Sunrise at mount Pananjakan - Sand Sea - Mount Bromo - Bondowoso

Gunung Penanjakan
At 00:00 midnight your Jeep is ready for departure. You will be driven to one of the highest and most famous viewpoints, namely mount Pananjakan in 3 hours. If weather conditions permit you to, you can see the sunrise at an altitude of 2770 m. On clear days, you can also see the highest mountain on Java, mount Semeru, and the Java Sea north of mount Bromo. Weather conditions dye the sky....

Sand Sea
Then you will continue the ride by Jeep. You will have to cross the black ashen volcanic Sea of Sand. A landscape of volcanic sand that evokes a similarity to an arid dessert but then black.

Luhur Poten Temple
This temple lies in the incredible landscape of mount Bromo. You will pass by when you hike to the top of the active volcano Bromo. If open, take a peek inside.

Mount Bromo
This is it. Indonesia's most famous volcano and certainly one of its most impressive landscapes. The hike to the top takes about 45 min. Stop every now and then to take in the beauty around you....

Lava View Lodge Hotel
Once back at your hotel, you can have breakfast. Take a refreshing shower before checking out and heading to Bondowoso city near Mt.Ijen.

You will be heading to Bondowoso city via the winding Arak-Arak hills road. The drive would take 6 hours more or less, please feel free to ask the driver whenever you would like to stop. Our driver will also recommend some good restaurants during the way for lunch.

Day 3
Mt.Ijen hiking activities - Blue Fire - Sunrise at the crater - Jagir waterfall - Ketapang Harbor

The blue fire phenomenon only can be seen during the dark. You will start at 00.00 AM, midnight from your hotel and heading to Paltuding or the trekking point of Mt.Ijen.

Start at 2 AM, after enjoying the coffee break, you will have a local guide with gas mask and start hiking 3 kilometers up. Once you arrived at the crater, it is another 1,5 kilometers down to the bottom of the crater. Enjoy the "once a life" experienced of Blue fire phenomenon and quickly hike up again when the sun is about to rise.

Ijen Crater Indonesia
Relax your foots a while as the sun is rising over Mt.Ijen where you will have colorful views over the most acidic lake in the world. Sulfur miners are at work, carrying baskets of about 80 to 100 kg out of the crater. Take your time to explore this impressive active volcano.

Once you hike down to the Paltuding, enjoy your breakfast then heading to Ketapang harbor. On the route, you can visit Jagir waterfall. A small yet nice waterfall in the area.

The estimated time of arrival in Ketapang is 12 noon. Say goodbye to our crew as you enter the ferry. Please note that Bali time is one hour ahead of Java time. You will arrive at Gilimanuk harbor in Bali.
