This exhibition of culture combined with 2 of Indonesia's renowned landmarks in the form of the volcanoes Bromo and Ijen and their landscape all in one tour. Get ready to experience Java.
After the tour you will be dropped in Ketapang harbour, where you can take the ferry to Bali.

Be ready for this impressive cultural day. You will be picked up at 06:00. First is the most famous Borobudur temple. The Borobudur is located 42 km northwest of Yogyakarta. This 8th century Mahayana Buddhist monument comprises six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, 2672 relief panels, and 504 Buddha statues. Impressive?
Then, you travel southeast to the Prambanan temple. This is a mighty 9th century Hindu complex.
If time is sufficient and your energy still up, you can visit Yogyakarta's city center, Tamansari water palace, and the batik and silver industry in Kotagede.
If you still have time, you can have lunch before take the train to Malang at 16:41 and arrive in at 22:55.
After breakfast you will have some time for sightseeing in Malang. First is the Malang's heritage, the roundabout (with liberty statue, opened in 1952 by Indonesia's first president) on which Malang's 1929 city hall is located. Then Kampong Jodipan (colorful kampong/neighborhood with mural art), bird and flower market, and Ijen boulevard.
It is a 2.5 hours drive from Malang to the enchanting Madakaripura waterfalls. After the car parks, you will go by motorbike taxi to the starting point of your hike. A local guide (obligatory) will walk with you in about 30 min - fairly easy path - to the waterfalls. But be ready to get wet....
From the Madakaripura waterfalls it is a 45 min drive to Cemara Lawang village. Explore the Hindu village and see the sunset.
Early departure. At 03:00 your private Jeep is waiting. Head to viewpoint Kingkong. Experience sunrise over the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru NP. Then drive through the Sea of Sand to get near the active volcano Bromo. It is a 45 min walk one way.
After check out of your hotel it is a 5 to 6 hours drive to Bondowoso. Have a break at the winding road over the Arak-Arak hills.
The hotel comes with a swimming pool. Enjoy a relaxed evening as next morning will be another early departure. You can order dinner in the hotel, or go out for some street food. Bondowoso isn't much of a big city.
Another worthwhile early morning. At 04:00 you depart to Paltuding, a 2 hours drive. The hike to Ijen crater lake takes about 1.5 hrs. Slopes can be steep on this 3 km walk. Meet the sulphur miners wheeling down their harvest. The most acidic lake on earth. Blueish-green. Exquisitely exceptional...
Once back at the parking area, enjoy a break. On route to Ketapang you can visit the sulphur factory in Licin village, Kalibendo coffee area and Jagir waterfall.
You will arrive in Ketapang around noon, 12:00. In Ketapang you can take the ferry to Gilimanuk in Bali. In Gilimanuk you will find a bus terminal. If you need help with private transport to any location in Bali, please ask. We can arrange your transfer.
