8:00 am start at Cradle Mountain, beginning at Dove Lake and climbing steeply toward Hanson’s Peak, where the effort is rewarded with sweeping views over the lake and surrounding alpine landscape.
From Hanson’s Peak, descend into the Twisted Lakes, famous for their still waters and mirror-like reflections of Cradle Mountain. Continue along the Face Track, walking beneath the dramatic cliffs of Cradle Mountain before joining part of the Overland Track near Kitchen Hut.
The ascent becomes more challenging as you enter a rocky boulder section on the final climb to the summit of Cradle Mountain. Weather permitting, enjoy lunch at the summit and take time to appreciate the spectacular panoramic views.
The return journey follows Marion’s Lookout and Wombat Pool, completing an unforgettable alpine circuit. After the walk, you’ll be returned to your hotel or the Visitor Centre, concluding one of Tasmania’s most iconic hiking experiences.
