Join this "tachinomi" standing bar tour to explore the western port city of Takamatsu at night with a local guide and get a little tipsy! Tachinomi is a type of Japanese bar with no seats where you can enjoy a quick drink, a light meal, and spontaneous encounters with locals.
During this tour, you'll stroll along the lively shopping arcades and drop by 3 unique tachinomi bars to enjoy comparing various tastes of sake from all across the country. This tour is also a great way to get to know your way around the city as the English-speaking guide will provide tons of useful information on what to do, where to visit, and where to eat in the city.

    Meet your guide in front of Kataharamachi Station, then walk down an alley with a good-old Japanese atmosphere into modern shopping arcades, whose combined length is the longest in the country. As you go, drop by at several unique tachinomi bars to enjoy comparing tastes of various Japanese sakes. The bars selected for the tour are ones that the guide personally frequents to ensure that you can have a good time interacting with the owner and other guests in a comfortable atmosphere. Some examples are: A bar run by a female owner in lovely kimono with a wide selection of fragrant, fruity sake; One owned by a sake-buff couple where you can choose from a whole range of popular sake brands, as well as some hard-to-find stuff; One that offers various locally-brewed sakes, and actually sells them for you to bring back home as a souvenir. After you've fully enjoyed our tour, the guide will walk you to a nearby location of your choice (hotel, restaurant, pub etc.) to conclude the tour.
