The highest rank is the samurai, the ruling class. The idea was introduced by Inazo Nitobe, whose famous book Bushido impressed US President Theodore Roosevelt.
Samurai have high ethical standards such as righteousness, benevolence, courtesy, and loyalty, and their greatest mission is to be loyal to their superior, the daimyo.
However, at the end of the Edo period in the 1860s, some samurai left their positions as conductors of daimyo (feudal lords), fled their domains, and fought for their nation, regardless of life or death. made Japan. They are the true samurai.
