What to expect

Gokyo Lake Trek (also known as Gokyo Lakes Trek) is one of the variants of Everest Base Camp Trek. It takes you to a pristine valley of the Everest Region having 19 freshwater lakes interconnected with each other.
You can visit this beautiful Sherpa Valley after or before reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364 m). The Gokyo Lake Trek route follows the traditional Everest Base Camp Trek route up to Mong La Pass (3,610 m) and diverts to other direction.
You can see the soaring peaks of the Khumbu Region including four eight-thousanders. The turquoise water of the lakes, the Sherpa culture and tradition of the valley, and climbing Gokyo RI (5,357 m) are the major highlights of this trek.
Gokyo Lake Trek moves along the world’s highest placed conservation area listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Forests of pine, oak, and rhododendron forests are inhabited by alpine birds and animals.
You can also hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880 m), the world’s highest altitude hotel. From here, you can see a close up view of Mt. Everest.
The Sherpa Museum and traditional villages are a cultural gallery in themselves. You can learn about their typical rites and rituals by visiting these villages.
