3David Gareja Monastery
Enjoy a short hike near David Gareja Monastery Complex to reach a small cave where holy spring water drips from the rock. According to local legend, this water was the monks’ only source of clean drinking water in the early centuries, making it a symbol of hope and survival. It is known as the “Tears of David,” based on the story of the monastery’s founder. You will also explore parts of the David Gareja Monastery Complex and hear about its local history and legends.

4Gareja colorful dunes viewpoint
Enjoy views of the colorful hills known as the “Rainbow Mountains” near David Gareja Monastery Complex. The distance of the short hike may vary depending on weather conditions. In all cases, you can reach the main viewpoints for panoramic photos. However, after rain, the clay soil can become slippery and more difficult to walk on inside the hills. For this reason, the time spent in this area is flexible, usually around 30–60 minutes.
