From there, we continue the Romantic Road to immaculately preserved Dinkelsbühl. Which proudly traces its roots to a royal residence founded by Carolingian Kings in the 8th century. Dinkelsbühl was saved from destruction in the Thirty Years War and ignored by WWII bombers. Therefore, it is the Romantic Road’s quaintest and most authentically medieval destination.
Time for Lunch. Then, we head to the jewel of the Romantic Road, Rothenburg ob der Tauber. One of Europe’s best preserved medieval cities. Because the city was on the wrong side of the 30 Years War. Rothenburg escaped damage but was driven into poverty. And since there was no money for development, as a result, the town was preserved. In addition, we visit the St.James Church greatest treasure: the Altar of the Holy Blood. Was produced in Rothenburg between 1499 and 1505. Maybe time for shopping, and in Rothenburg, we find one of the best Christmas shops in Germany (Käthe Wohlfahrt).
Your private guide will pick you up at your hotel in Rothenburg and we take the Autobahn to Füssen. To visit Neuschwanstein Castle. (With Skip the Line service you don't have to worry about waiting for hours to get tickets or tickets are sold out when you arrive). We drive to Hohenschwangau village. First, we take the shuttle to Mary’s Bridge (Marienbrücke) for some amazing pictures. Then we walk to Neuschwanstein (the fairy-tale castle) with a tour inside. You will know more about the Swan King (Ludwig II) king of Bavaria (1864-1886). And the history of Neuschwanstein Castle (built 1869-1886). (The castle entry is conducted as a group tour, in line with the castle's policy). Afterward, from the castle’s foot, we take a horse carriage to Hohenschwangau village. Then back to your hotel by our private vehicle. # Please note that (During the winter months, due to snow and for safety reasons, the Marienbrücke is closed).
After Lunch, we drive to the picturesque village of Oberammergau, where is the original Passion Play started in 1634 period. This little historic village is famous for wood carving and for many House paintings and more. Free time for shopping before heading to Munich.
