See the majestic Kalgoorlie "Super Pit", Nickel Smelter and greater Kalgoorlie-Boulder city before flying south to Kambalda and the huge Lake Lefroy Salt lake, a huge expanse of sparse dry lakebed, contrasted with deep mining excavations.
Once you have entered the airport grounds off Hart Kerspien Drive proceed to the main roundabout. Take the first exit and go past the hire car offices to the end of the street. Turn left at the last road and proceed to the end (you will pass the MLG and RFDS hangars). Park in the GAS carpark.
See the Kalgoorlie Super Pit from the air. Checkout the Kambalda Nickel Smelter and the amasing landscape of Lake Lefroy. It is the best way to get an appreciation of the sheer size of the pit and a birds eye view of the mining industry. See the sights of Kalgoorlie and the wonderful western woodlands.
