A short stop at the highest point of Gombori pass (attitude 1620m).
The first place you will visit is Old Shuamta monastery complex (V-VII AD). The monastic complex contains a basilica from the 5th century and two domed churches, both from the 7th century. The largest dome-shaped church is similar in type and architecture to the Jvari monastery. All the churches of the monastery are built in carved stone. It was abandoned in the 16th century.
Next stop will be the Shumi winery. Here you can visit wine museum, taste wine and have some snack.
Tsinandali museum is located just next to the Shumi winery. Aleksander Chavchavadze's palace with the beautiful garden, the oldest enoteca in Georgia and the story about Aleksander and his family.
In Kondoli village we will visit local farmer's winery and will introduce with the Georgian technology of winemaking.
