The Viana do Castelo Costume Museum was created in 1997 to study and disseminate the identity and ethnographic heritage of Viana through its exponent, Viana's costume that is the popular, rural, feminine costume worn in the villages around Viana do Castelo.
Along our drive through Viana do Castelo you will see hospital boat Gil Eanes. This boat began operating as a hospital in 1955, supporting for decades, the Portuguese cod fishing fleet which operated on the banks of Newfoundland and Greenland.
In Viana do Castelo, you will get to know the fortress of Santiago da Barra. In a dominant position on the banks of the Lima River, the Santiago da Barra fort had the function of defending the anchorage and the people of Viana da Foz, now Viana do Castelo.
After your visit to the center of Viana do Castelo you will follow your way to the top of the Santa Luzia hill. Here will be shown the breathtaking view from the Hill of Santa Luzia and visit the sanctuary.

This Roman and medieval bridge is classified as a National Monument. It is considered the most emblematic monument in the city of Ponte de Lima.
This themed garden allows you to take a journey through the art history of gardens, focused on Roman art, from buildings, irrigation and also plantations.

We will visit this baroque church with its lovely blue tiles and golden carvings. This church is known for its legend about a dark wooden cross.
One of the old city doors. On the top of the tower you have an beautiful view on the baroque gardens and the marketsquare. Inside of the tower there is an interesting artcraft expositions from local artists.
On Thursdays you have the possibility to visit the biggest market of Portugal. This market takes place right in the center of Barcelos.
Here you will discover the legend of the rooster and see the original cross from the legend. There are also some other interesting artifacts found all over the city.
