Take a day trip from Melbourne to experience the natural wonders of the Grampians National Park. A geological playground for hikers, rock climbers and wildlife, the Grampians offer second to none views over the the park and western plains of Victoria and is home to the spectacular Mackenzie Falls.
We showcase the region known as Gariwerd by the local Indigenous people. A spectacular series of rugged mountain ranges to the west of Melbourne. Home to an abundance of kangaroos, wallabies and other native animals and rich in natural wonders with stunning waterfalls and panoramic mountain views. This Grampians tour includes short walks to some of our favourite spots and includes a visit to the award-winning Brambuk the National Park & Cultural Centre for an insight into the history of the people, the landscape and the wildlife that make up this region.

We start the day early, leaving Melbourne sharply at 7:35am. We recommend guests eat breakfast prior to the tour, given we have a long drive ahead of us.
We kick things off in the laid-back town of Beaufort – perfect for a morning leg-stretch and a snack. Then it’s straight into the action as we hit Grampians National Park!
Once we have arrived in the picturesque National Park, we head to Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where you can explore and see first hand the creation stories that make up the lore of this diverse landscape. Venture around the cultural centre to spot wallabies, emus and maybe even echidnas in the bush. Come away with a deeper understanding of the significance of Gariwerd for the Indigenous people.
In one day we take you from Melbourne to experience the highlights of this breathtaking National Park. You will feel as though you have stepped back in time as you marvel at the Ancient Landscape with rugged mountain ranges and spectacular sandstone ridges. With an experienced guide leading you through this incredible scenery, you will come away from tour with a new understanding of the countryside and history of the region.
Probably the most famous waterfall in Victoria, we hike down to the base and back to marvel at the sheer amount of water and to feel the fresh spray in the air. The hike is about 250 steps to the base and back and if you prefer an easier flat walk out over the top of the falls this is absolutely fine! If ever Mackenzie Falls were closed to the public this stop would be substituted for a peaceful hike to Silverband Falls.
We then enjoy a hike along the shady path through the gumtrees and fascinating rock formations out to The Balconies, here you will see the famous ‘Jaws of Death’ with majestic views and scenery, featured in the Japanese Animation ‘Princess Mononoke’.
Reeds Lookout affords sweeping views down to Lake Wartook and out over the Victoria Valley and the Mount Difficult Range.
A picture stop at the marvellous Boroka lookout perfectly depicts the incredible scenery. Depending on the weather and visibility we may alternatively head to Lake Bellfield to walk out along the damn and feel dwarfed in-between the two mountain ranges.
Before heading ‘up the mountain’ we relax in the picturesque town of Halls Gap, right in the heart of the Grampians National Park for time to grab lunch (at your own expense).
Leaving the Grampians National Park, we make the journey back o Melbourne arriving in the evening around 8:00pm.
