    Positano is the first jewel of this coast, it's a very popular resort. notable for its picturesque townscape. built on terraces on the hillside or clinging to the rocks. The town is intersected by a network of alleys and stairways. Clinging to the mountain slope. running under arches, or descending precipitously and tortuously to the sea below. The architecture of the house, too, is distinctive: their facades are graced with broad balconies and several buildings are roofed with domes. Notable among these is the majolica dome of the church of Santa Maria dell' Assunta. Excellent hotels and bathing and sporting facilities make Positano one of the most favorite and fashionable resorts on the Amalfi coast.
