Begin your journey in the morning with a private driver departing from your hotel, B&B, or apartment in Naples. Your first stop is Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most visited Roman archaeological sites, second only to the Colosseum in Rome. Explore this ancient city, perfectly preserved under layers of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Walk among its Roman streets and marvel at remarkably intact structures such as shops, squares, brothels, and even human figures frozen in time by the volcanic disaster. After your visit to Pompeii, continue to your next destination: Herculaneum, another incredible archaeological site buried during the same eruption. Please note: Entrance tickets and a tour guide for Pompeii are not included in this service but can be arranged upon request.
Herculaneum, unlike Pompeii, is smaller but remarkably better preserved. While Pompeii was buried under four to five meters of ash, Herculaneum was engulfed by a 20-meter-thick landslide of mud, which protected many of its structures and artifacts. Here, you can marvel at carbonized wooden objects, vibrant paintings, and intricate mosaics that remain intact. With a two-hour guided tour (optional), the city truly comes to life. Key highlights include the Temple of the Augustali, the ancient beach where over 300 skeletons were discovered, the thermal baths, the forum, the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, the Samnite House, the gymnasium, the House of the Deer, and more. Please note: Entrance tickets and a tour guide are not included in the service but can be arranged upon request.
On Mount Vesuvius, take a break and enjoy your free time with lunch in a picturesque, panoramic setting. We highly recommend visiting Cantine del Vesuvio, one of the renowned wineries located on the slopes of the volcano. This exceptional spot offers the perfect blend of delicious local cuisine and breathtaking views, making your experience truly unforgettable.
