Maui is the place to see humpback whales. Each year these magnificent creatures migrate south from Alaska, and although you can see them throughout Hawaii, the ‘Au ‘au channel off the coast of Maui boasts the greatest number. Our warm, relatively shallow and protected waters make an ideal location for the humpbacks to mate and give birth to their calves. These whales are known for their acrobatics, and are often seen fully breaching out of the ocean!

We will sail in the inter island channel and witness humpback whales in their natural environment. We pride ourselves on true sailing. Once the trade winds fill our sails, we shut down the motors so you can enjoy the quiet rhythm of the ocean and the sounds of whales surfacing nearby. With limited guest capacity, comfortable shaded seating, and spacious bow trampolines, this intimate experience is designed for relaxation and awe. Every winter, thousands of Pacific humpback whales migrate to Maui’s warm, protected waters to mate, give birth, and nurture their young. Our expert crew shares fascinating insights about their behaviors while you enjoy a front-row view of breaches, tail slaps, and playful calves.
