We will head north of Puerto Natales, about 25 km, to explore the Archaeological Park inside Estancia Ernesto Helmer. This adventure combines nature, history, and culture in a unique setting of mountains, valleys, cliffs, and condor roosts. From the summit, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the Eberhard Fjord, Señoret Channel, and the iconic Sofía Lagoon. Cerro Benítez is an important archaeological and paleontological site, home to 3,500-year-old rock paintings. Along the way, we will visit the Window Cave and the Hidden Cave, where with headlamps we’ll discover fascinating stalactites formed by thousands of years of dripping mineral-rich water. Finally, we’ll walk through lush forests towards the “Dos Herraduras” overhangs to admire ancient cave paintings on rock walls that once lay beneath the sea — an unforgettable journey through both natural beauty and the traces of ancient Patagonian life.
