Langtang valley also known as valley of Glacier is a very popular trekking in Nepal. The trekking starts from 6/7 hours drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche or Syabru Besi. This short trekking offers cultural experience insights such a monasteries, local villages and opportunity to see the great Himalayan range of Langtang. The trek is an ideal option for those who are looking rich Tamang culture, beautiful landscape and vegetation of the Langtang region.

What to expect

The trek starts from Syafrubesi (117 km away from Kathmandu) by 6 to 7 hours by Jeep. we follow the Langtang river and Walking through the lush rhododendron and pine forest we reach Langtang Valley via Lama Hotel route. The local villages are inhabited by the Tibetan Budhhist and local Tamang community. Moving a little higher we reach Kyanjing Gompa (3798m), an ancient monastery.

In Kyanjing Gompa you can have non-technical peak climbing. Apart from it you can visit Cheese factory (4633m) or walk along the Langsisa pasture and reach Tsergo Ri (4984m) to view numerous glaciers and mountain ranges from Nepal and Tibet including Dorje Lakpa and Shisapangma (8013m), the highest mountain in Tibet. Our return is made through the same route following Langtang village-Lama hotel-syafrubesi and finally a drive to Kathmandu from there

Day by Day Itinerary:-

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (1462m / 4795ft.) by Jeep - 6/7 hours driving.

Day 02: Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel (2500m/8200ft.)- 5 hours walking.

Day 03: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3307m/10845ft)- 5 hours walking.

Day 04: Langtang village to Kyanjing Ri (4773m/15655ft) and back to Kyanjing Gompa (3798m/12495ft)- 7 hours walking.

Day 05: Kyangjuma Gompa Exploration and climb Chorkari Ri (5050m/16564ft) - 7 hours walking.

Day 06 - Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel (2500m/8200ft) - 5-6 hours walking.

Day 07: Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi (1462m/4795ft) 5-6 hours Walking.

Day 08 - Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu by Jeep - 6/7 hours driving.
