Rashtrapati Bhavan, home to the President of the world’s largest democracy, is emblematic of Indian democracy and its secular, plural, and inclusive traditions. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. It took seventeen years to build this palace. It has 350 acres of land and 340 rooms. The Gurudwara has a prayer hall, a holy Sarovar (lake), and a Langar Hall, where meals are provided for all regardless of race, caste, gender, or religion, and that too without any charges. Simple yet tasty lentils, Rotis, and rice are served in the langar.
