Annapurna Himalayas is one of the most iconic landmarks in Nepal. As such, the trails to the south of these mountains also house exciting trekking adventures. Similarly, Rapid Annapurna Base Camp Trek explores these trails which have plenty of natural and cultural beauty. The trek follows the popular trails through the Annapurna Conservation Area. Likewise, this short trek is best for those with limited days to explore Nepal. Trekkers can also enjoy the views of mountains like Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), and Fishtail (6993m).
Firstly, the trip begins as you arrive in Kathmandu and prepare for the trip. Next, you head towards the City of Lakes Pokhara. You can explore the vibrant streets of Pokhara and boat on the Phewa Lake. Then, you drive to Phedi and begin the trek officially.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Kathmandu, the bustling capital of Nepal, offers a mix of rich Nepali culture and vibrant city life. You’ll have a briefing session where you’ll learn more about the Annapurna Base Camp trek itinerary, safety guidelines, and key preparations. If time permits, you may explore nearby attractions, such as Thamel's local shops or Durbar Square. This day serves as an introduction to the beautiful journey ahead.
After a scenic 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, you’ll be greeted by stunning views of the Himalayas, including Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks. From Pokhara, we drive approximately 26 miles (42 km) to Nayapul, the starting point of our trek. The hike to Chhomrong covers roughly 7 miles, taking about 6-7 hours through terraced fields and traditional Gurung villages. The ascent to Chhomrong, situated at 2,170 meters, offers panoramic views and is renowned for its charming lodges and breathtaking mountain scenery.
Today’s trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya is approximately 6 miles, taking 6-7 hours and gaining significant elevation. The trail first descends to the Chhomrong Khola river, followed by a steep ascent through a dense rhododendron and bamboo forest. Passing through Sinuwa and Bamboo villages, you’ll experience some of Nepal’s lush natural landscapes. As we reach Himalaya at 2,920 meters, you’ll feel the colder mountain air and notice the change in vegetation. This day provides an immersive journey through Nepal’s diverse flora and fauna.
Today’s 5-mile trek from Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) is the highlight of the journey, taking about 6-7 hours. The trail takes you through Deurali and Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC), where views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare (Fish Tail) peak become even more stunning. The final ascent to ABC at 4,210 meters is thrilling, with snow-covered landscapes and breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks. This area, also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, is revered for its beauty and spiritual significance to locals and trekkers alike.
After sunrise at Annapurna Base Camp, we start our descent back to Bamboo, covering around 6 miles in 5-6 hours. Retracing our steps, you’ll enjoy a different perspective of the landscape, descending through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests. The return journey feels faster as we move toward lower altitudes, and the scenery becomes greener. Bamboo, located at 2,310 meters, offers a comfortable spot for an overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Nepal’s Himalayan forests.
Today’s 5-mile trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda takes about 5-6 hours and involves both ascending and descending trails. Passing through Chhomrong once again, you’ll eventually descend to Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs. Here, you can enjoy a rejuvenating soak in the warm waters by the Modi River, soothing your muscles after days of trekking. This relaxing experience is a highlight for many trekkers and provides a peaceful ending to the day’s adventure.
After breakfast, we trek approximately 2 miles from Jhinu Danda to Birethanti, where we complete the trekking portion. A short drive (about 25 miles or 40 km) brings us back to Pokhara, where we’ll have a brief rest before flying back to Kathmandu. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant, celebrating the journey’s accomplishments. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the trek, share experiences, and unwind with good food in Kathmandu’s vibrant atmosphere.
After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to Nepal as you prepare for your departure from Kathmandu Airport. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute shopping or a brief visit to Kathmandu’s landmarks. Leaving with memories of the majestic Annapurna Base Camp trek and Nepal’s cultural charm, you’ll carry stories of adventure, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable experiences.
