Bentota River Safari is one of the popular outdoor activities throughout the local as well as foreigners. This boat ride will take approximate 1.5 hours and you will be able to explore large area of mangroves , rare animals such as crocodiles , water monitors as well as some inherent birds.

A stark reminder of the Boxing Day Tsunami that hit the island in 2004, the Tsunami Museum is one of the few places in the southern coast that tells us the story of how the natural disaster affected the local communities in the island, along with the resilience of these societies. Funded and created by the locals in Hikkaduwa, a visit to the museum will give chance to witness variety of photographs of the devastating story of lost lives and effected civilians.

This fortified city is one of the most famous of all tourist destinations in South East Asia. Right on the South-Western tip of the Island its harbor was the main hub for trade and commerce for thousands of years. It has great significance for its cultural, historical, and geographical value. The Portuguese were the first to build a fort to protect their naval fleet and their spice trade, with first the Dutch and then the British taking eventual control. The Fort is listed as a world heritage site and is well preserved. The Inner fort has several restaurants and hotels to cater to the tourist, and is a pleasure to visit and walk around. .
This is the most historical individual fishing style in Sri Lanka and had largely been using in south coast. Not many people use this style as latest technologies have widely been using for fishing in modern world. you will be able to witnessed stilt fishing and enjoy using it & get some photos of yourselves.
