You will be taken to wild Great Wall which is less restored and less crowded. Except collecting all beautiful views into your eyes and also don’t worry you will be late for next flight, as there is no shuttle/cable or ticket office that waste your time. And you can visit this Great Wall in the early morning or in the late evening (daylight hours). This private layover tour is customized to your needs and allows you to hike on the authentic Great Wall with a lake at bottom and less tourist there. If time permit, you have chance to taste local food in a local restaurant with reasonable price (pay extra). Airport pick-up and drop-off services are included.

Note: Making such trips possible, your layover time has to be at least 9 hours or longer (between two flights).

What to expect

You will be picked up by private comfortable car with English speaking guide from your hotel.

Then we will drive to original Great Wall (about 1.5 hours drive). After about 2 hours visit, we will escort you back to your hotel or airport. The whole tour will last about 6 hours.

Original Great Wall:

This Great Wall located in northern Huairou district of Beijing. It is the only lakeside Great Wall in Beijing. About 80km away from airport. It is one of the top destinations for a Great Wall hiking tour and camping base. As this part of Great Wall is more original and no cable car there, so visitors should be in good physical condition.

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • Wild Great Wall is very pretty and less touristy. We can park our car just below the Great Wall, then walk 5 mins to the Great Wall through Mountain path, very fast. But is a little bit steep to walk further up, so please make sure you are active.
  • Layover: The tour last about 5 hours, plus the time(2 hours) to get out of airport and the time(2 hours) to catch flight, so it require at least 9 hours layover to make this tour happen.
