Head north from Lisbon and drive for 90 minutes to the quaint village of Nazaré, now famous for its big waves. Once we arrive in Nazaré, we'll visit Sítio, where you can admire breathtaking views and learn about the history and traditions of this beautiful fishing town. We will also stop at the São Miguel Arcanjo Fortress and visit the big wave surfboard exhibition. There will be time to watch surfers tackle the big waves if there is a big swell.
After a delightful lunch, we’ll take a scenic drive to Óbidos, passing through the picturesque beach town of São Martinho do Porto, a hidden gem along the Silver Coast.
Óbidos is known as the official "House of the Portuguese Queens" for over 600 years. We will embark on a walking tour through its cobbled streets, lined with vibrant bougainvillaea, leading up to a stunning castle encircled by medieval walls. Óbidos is also recognized as a City of Literature, one of only 28 in the world to receive this honour from UNESCO. As we explore, you’ll discover charming bookstores, unique handcrafted shops, and a delightful bakery that has been perfecting family recipes for over 130 years. And we can’t miss the opportunity to taste Ginja, a traditional sour cherry liqueur served in a chocolate cup!
