Annapurna is considered one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. The Base Camp route is a moderate trekking that commences from Kathmandu, giving you the chance to also visit the capital's highlights. The trail takes you through the traditional villages of Nepal’s ethnic communities, like Gurung, Magar, and Thakali, whose people will welcome you with their culture and tradition.

    You will be welcomed at Kathmandu International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Thamel. The rest of the day you have time to explore the area. In the afternoon, you will have a briefing at your hotel lobby where you receive all necessary information regarding your trip.

    Kathmandu Durbar Square

    Today you will be strolling around Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu Durbar Square is an ancient and historically significant site located in the heart of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, alongside Bhaktapur and Patan, and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Swaymbhunath

    Our next destination is Swayambhunath Temple. Swayambhunath Temple, also known as the "Monkey Temple," is a revered religious site perched atop a hill in Kathmandu, Nepal. This ancient and iconic stupa is one of the country's most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage destinations. Surrounded by a mesmerizing panorama of the Kathmandu Valley, the temple is characterized by its white dome with a gilded spire and the watchful eyes of Lord Buddha, symbolizing wisdom and compassion.

    Boudhanath Stupa

    Lastly, we will visit Boudhanath. Boudhanath, also known as Boudha, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a prominent Buddhist stupa located in Kathmandu, Nepal. This ancient and majestic structure is one of the largest stupas in the world and holds immense religious significance for Buddhists. Its iconic white dome, adorned with colorful prayer flags, stands as a symbol of peace, harmony, and enlightenment, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike to its spiritual ambiance.

    From Pokhara to Nayapul and start hiking to Ulleri (driving duration: 1.5 hours, hiking duration: 5-6 hours)

    In the morning, our guide will receive you and then drive you to Nayapul, which acts as the gateway to most of the destinations in the Annapurna region. From Nayapul, you will start hiking to Ulleri. As you ascend, you’ll see many terraced farm fields along the hills and the fresh air gushing in your face makes for a pleasant hike as you enjoy the landscape. After a while, you’ll reach Tikhedhunga and from there, the trail is hard and straight uphill until you reach Ulleri.

    Hike from Ulleri to Ghorepani (hiking duration: 6-7 hours)

    Continuing our trek, we head towards the forest and slowly onward to, Ghorepani. The trail is much easier than the day before and much more enjoyable as we pass through amazing rhododendron and pine forests while crossing little bridges. After hiking for some time, we’ll reach the Nangethathi low and further on to Ghorepani village. From upper Ghorepani, we could observe the great view of the magnificent Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and many more mountains.

    Hike from Ghorepani, via Poonhill to Tadapani (hiking duration: 6-7 hours)

    In the early morning, you will start trekking from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) and then to Tadapani (2650m). You will begin the trek to Poon Hill (3210m) in the early morning to catch the first ray of sunlight. The pleasant sunrise at Poonhill trek passes through culturally rich villages that are set against the background of majestic mountains. Along with a sunrise view over Mt. Annapurna, Poonhill also offers panoramic views of several mountains including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains. You will return and have your breakfast at Ghorepani, and then commence the trek to Tadapani (2650 m). The trek will begin through the thick forest of rhododendrons, bamboos, and oaks. One can observe and appreciate nature’s beauty; waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, birds, and green valleys.

    Hike from Tadapani to Chhomrong (hiking duration: 5-6 hours)

    From Tadapani, we descend down and cross the Kimrung River. Then, we walk alongside the rice fields and little settlement beside the river bank and then ascend to reach Chhomrong. From Chhomrong, we have a fantastic view of Fishtail and Annapurna South.

    Hike from Chhomrong to Dovan (hiking duration: 6-7 hours)

    We have a short distance but a long and tiring day ahead of us. Climbing down 2000+ stone steps to cross the Chhomrong River, we are welcome by a great ascent to Sinuwa. After some rest at Sinuwa, we descend down through the rocky steps and beautiful bamboo forests to reach Bamboo Village (2300 m). The village is famous for its large Lemurs colonies and with a little luck, one can see one of them hanging around the trees. We then have an easy trail ahead of us to reach Dovan.

    Hike from Dovan to MBC (hiking duration: 6-7 hours)

    We will start our hike to Deurali and then to Hotel Himalayan while crossing beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests. After crossing Hotel Himalaya, there is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here, the trail drops closer to the river before climbing again to Deurali (2920 m). After some rest, the trails lead us to beautiful Modi Khola. Walking alongside the river, enjoy the beautiful scenery and then ascend to Macchapuchare Base Camp (MBC). Here, you have an amazing view of Fishtail Mountain which changes its shape with respect to the angle of view.

    Hike from MBC via Annapurna Base Camp to Deurali (hiking duration: 5-6 hours)

    If you wish to watch the sunrise at ABC, you will have to wake up early (3 A.M) in the morning and hike to Annapurna Base Camp. It is about 2 hours to ascend and has to catch our breath to be careful of altitude. The setting of the Annapurna Base Camp is absolutely unique and incredibly spectacular. We get excellent views of the majestic Machhapuchhre along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna. It is also called Annapurna Sanctuary because of its oval-shaped plateau which is surrounded by a ring of mountains. Arriving at ABC, we will find ourselves face to face with the magical Annapurna I (8091 m). The sunrise there is truly breathtaking and worth the journey we took. Spend some time and print the scenery in the memory while enjoying yourselves. Later, we’ll return to MBC and descend down to Deurali, which takes around 3 hours.

    Hike from Deurali to Jhinu (hiking duration 6-7 hours)

    Continuing our way back, we will descend down passing through the small settlements of Himalaya, Dovan, and Bamboo. We will then climb up the stone staircase and follow the trail to Sinuwa. Rest for a bit and descend down to the Chhomrong River. Till now, the trail is the same as we used before. On ascending, we follow the trail to the left which leads to Jhinu which features hot springs to melt away all of your fatigue.

    Hike from Jhinu to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (hiking duration 4-5 hours, driving duration 1,5 hours)

    Today is the last day of trekking. You’ll start the day by descending down the stone staircase and will start to see more of the villages and settlements and pass through the farmlands, and tea houses along the way. The trail is much easier and make your way back to Nayapul where the Asian Heritage private jeep will be waiting to receive and transfer you to Pokhara.

    Pokhara to Kathmandu by A/C tourist bus.

    You will have your breakfast in the hotel in Pokhara. After breakfast, you will be driven back to Kathmandu. In the late afternoon, you will reach Kathmandu where you will be directed to your hotel where you will stay the night.

    Tribhuvan International Airport

    Approximately 3 hours before departure of your flight, you will be transferred to Kathmandu international airport where we guide you to the check-in hall. From here we hope you had an amazing journey through our country, Nepal. And we hope to see you again.
