The next visit of your tour will be the last home of the Virgin Mary. Once you arrive there you will be thrilled by the natural beauty that surrounds the monument. The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there.

Another highlight of the tour is a visit to the ancient Basilica of St. John, built in honor of St. John the Apostle, traditionally believed to be the author of the Fourth Gospel and the Book of Revelation. According to tradition, St. John was buried here, and in the 6th century, Emperor Justinian commissioned the construction of the magnificent basilica over his tomb.
At the end of tour, you will be comfortably returned to your hotel in the departure city selected when booking. For guests departing from Izmir, Bodrum, or Kusadasi, a private transfer will take you directly back to your hotel. Guests who choose the Istanbul departure option will first be transferred to Izmir Airport for their return domestic flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul, a separate driver will meet you at the airport and provide a comfortable transfer back to your hotel in Istanbul, completing your journey seamlessly.
