Join us for a fun foodie adventure through Union Square, Somerville - a neighborhood like Brooklyn, NY that is bursting with culture, historical significance, and an exploding food scene! Home of the infamous Fluff Festival because marshmallow fluff was invented here, the quirky Union Square celebrates its diversity with many community events and festivals. Celebrating entrepreneurs of all kinds, there are lots of creative new concepts here.
This historical area is home to the raising of the first American flag in 1776, allegedly by George Washington himself. We are excited to show you around! We will sample a diversity of foods from local favorites, ethnic restaurants, and hand-crafted specialty foods that are sure to wow! This tour is suitable to all ages, but there many be a chance or two to try some alcohol from some special local bars, so please specify your preference upon booking.
Please meet outside in the courtyard of Bloc Cafe; the guide will be there with a binder. If you cannot meet the guide, please check your phone for an email or phone/text. You can call or text the guide. In case of inclement weather we will meet just inside the door of the cafe.
Union Square in Somerville is Boston's hottest neighborhood, where locals really love living. It has a robust community of entrepreneurs as well as interesting neighborhood hangouts and immigrant populations. The new green line MBTA station is conveniently located here. It has the best food in the city!
