What to expect
LEVEL - easy
You will hike a full day in the Sinharaja virgin rainforest, through the thick canopy of trees along forest trails to the Kekuna Ella waterfall where there is a deep pool for swimming and Pathan Oya water falls for relaxation and a natural fish massage (Sri Lankan suckerfish - Garra Ceylonensis).
This intermediate level trail will take 5 - 7 hours and you will be out of the jungle before sunset. Travelers should expect some torrential rain from time to time and leeches are in abundance during the rainy season, but proper clothing will protect you from the leeches. We provide you leech socks, rain coats and binoculars.
Please bring swimmers for the waterfall swim and insect repellent as required. Due to the pristine balanced ecosystem, there are no mosquitoes in the forest!
This tour is suitable for elderly travelers and families with kids to experience a true rainforest environment.
