Zambezi National Park is a national park in Zimbabwe located upstream from Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River. It was split off from Victoria Falls National Park in 1979 and is 56,000 hectares in size. The park is bisected by a road to Kazungula, dividing it into a riverine side and a Chamabonda Vlei side. Zambezi National Park is worth visiting if you want a convenient, scenic safari experience close to Victoria Falls without the long travel times required for other parks. The park sits just a 5-to-10-minute drive from the center of Victoria Falls town, saving you hours of transit. Unlike day trips to Chobe National Park in Botswana, visiting requires no border crossings, extra visas, or long hours at customs. The stunning riverfront features peaceful boat cruises, canoe trips, and picturesque morning mist over the water. You can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and occasionally lions or leopards.
