    Stonehenge

Now for our visit to Stonehenge. This most iconic British pre-historic site is familiar throughout the world. Our tour starts at the visitor centre where we will stand in the middle of a 360 degree auditorium and experience what it feels like to stand in the middle of Stonehenge as it developed over the centuries and throughout the seasons. Displays within the visitor centre show us where the stones came from and how they have been erected. Artifacts discovered nearby such as pottery, arrow heads and bronze daggers are on display, bringing to life the builders of Stonehenge their life and times. A display within the visitor centre shows us the Stonehenge area: a massive complex of 5,000 hectares. Outside there is a copy of the Great Trilithon where you can test your strength and re-creation of Stone Age huts based upon local excavations. The courtesy bus takes us up to the Stones to complete our tour.
