5Santiago Atitlan
In Santiago you will learn about the conquest, and the religious syncretism. You will visit Maximón, the only active Mayan saint, also called the Big Grandfather. You will visit the local church, built in the 16th century and see a demonstration of the Maya ceremonial dress.
