You will travel by train independently from Rome to Florence and back (tickets included) You will then meet your guide at the tour departure point in Florence in Piazza della Calza, at 20 minutes walk from the station.
Depart from Rome at approximately 7:30 AM on a 1.5-hour journey by high-speed train to Florence.
Once in Florence, come directly to Porta Romana, the meeting point just 5 mins by local bus / taxi or an easy 25 min walk from the train station. Meet your guide and start the exciting 7h trip to Tuscany departing from Florence at 9:45 am by private transport.
Your first stop will be at a local winery in the heart of the Chianti region with panoramic views of the Tuscan vineyards. Here you will taste several different types of wine including the famous Chianti Wine and extra virgin olive oil. Learn how to recognize the different flavors and develop your taste buds with the help of a passionate wine producer.
The second stop will be at a another family-run winery in a beautiful area well known for the production of DOCG Vernaccia white wine and with views of the famous towers lining San Gimignano. The wine makers will guide you through the vineyards and cellars as they share the secrets of wine and oil production. Enjoy more wines including the famous Vernaccia DOCG white wine. You’ll also have the opportunity to buy local products at a great price to bring back home or ship to friends and family. Happy & tipsy we will be ready to reach the town of San Gimignano.
In the afternoon, you will be free wander through the narrow streets in one of the most beautiful medieval town of Tuscany, San Gimignano. Enjoy shopping in the local stores and check out the tower-filled skyline while eating the ice cream from Dondoli, a world-champion gelateria. Tips & suggestions will be provided from your tour guide about the best places to visit in town.
You'll return to Florence, Porta Romana, around 5:00 PM. The team will then give you a customized map of the city with suggestions & must-do's to explore the Florence's iconic landmarks like Pitti Palace, "Ponte Vecchio" bridge and the famous Duomo in complete freedom. Don’t miss the chance to shop at leather stores or to try local specialties such as the Florentine steak or focaccia with prosciutto. Your train will leave at 7:43pm.
After a full-day trip, you will arrive in Rome at around 9:15 PM. Please note that the exact time may vary depending on the train schedule.
