Meet at the station and walk to Inage Shrine in Kawasaki, a local shrine connected to the community.
In this experience, you will learn the basics of Shinto, the difference between shrines and temples, and the meaning of Japanese festivals (matsuri). After changing into miko-style attire, you will take part in hands-on activities, including cleaning the shrine grounds, which is considered a form of purification in Shinto.
You will also have time to talk directly with a Shinto priest and ask questions. The experience ends with photo time to remember this special moment.
This is a fun and meaningful way to experience Japanese culture, and everyone is welcome to join.
Take the North Exit at JR Kawasaki Station. Turn right, and it's a 1-minute walk. Your guide will be waiting for you holding a sign.
While experiencing the role of a miko at this shrine, you’ll learn about Shinto, the shrine itself, and traditional festivals held here. This is a rare opportunity to ask questions directly and deepen your understanding of Japanese culture.
