    Day 1

    Nelson/Motueka to Awaroa via Tōtaranui

    Scenic coach trip from Nelson (1 hour) or Motueka (20 mins) to Kaiteriteri. Boat cruise (2 hours) along the spectacular granite coast to Tōtaranui. Walk 2.5 hours through lush native forest and along golden-sand beaches to Awaroa.

    Awaroa to Torrent Bay

    Walk 4 hours from Awaroa to the long golden sands of Onetahuti Beach. Here, your guide settles you into a stable double kayak with full instructions and safety brief, then it's on to the water to explore secret coves and islands down the coast to Torrent Bay. If the weather allows, kayak to the seal colony on Tonga Island. Approximately 4 hours paddling with a lunch break on a sheltered beach.

    Torrent Bay to Motueka/Nelson

    In your kayak, skim through sheltered azure waters to explore the sculpted granite coast. Approximately 4 hours paddling from Torrent Bay to Marahau or Kaiteriteri with a lunch break to stretch your legs or relax. Your guide designs the day around the tides and your interests and abilities. Our coach meets you to return to Motueka or Nelson.
