8 Days Ghorepani Poon hill trekking into the Annapurna region is a relatively easy hiking with some great mountain views and experiencing local culture and traditions. Trekkers get to observe majestic views of the snow-capped mountains like Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Himalchuli and many more.
We kindly request you to provide us with your international flight schedule, as we would be pleased to arrange airport pick-up and drop-off services for you.
We will be present there at the airport for your convenience to greet you and to transfer to your desired hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after a long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have a meeting with your trekking guide and discuss the equipment needed for the trekking. We will also process for the trekking permits.
After having your breakfast, we will drive you to the Domestic Airport to take a 25 minutes flight to Pokhara. During the short flight, you will have majestic views of glorious Manaslu Peaks, the snowcapped Annapurna, and Langtang Himalaya range. Alternatively, you can take a tourist bus to Pokhara (about 6-7 hours’ drive) via scenic Prithvi Highway, enjoying shortstops for lunch and breakfast and scenic beauty all the way around. Upon arrival at Pokhara, you will be transferred to the hotel, where you can enjoy your spare time at the lakeside. You can relax at the Phewa Lake, surrounded by the Annapurna Himalaya Range and visit Bindavasini Temple which is only accessible by boat. This package price covers only bus fare to Pokhara. If you are interested to take a flight, you need to pay additional USD 123 for Kathmandu to Pokhara flight. Please let us know at the booking time.
After breakfast, your journey to Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill trek begins. A car drive for about 1 and half hour through large village Lumle brings you to Nayapul. The trek starts from here, dropping at first on a staircase and then traversing high above the river on a wide, stone-paved trail to a large and prosperous town Birethanti (1000m). The trekking trail today follows winding bamboo forests and waterfalls with plunge pools inviting you for a refreshing swim. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches a small village Sudami, where you can have your lunch. After lunch climb steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hille (1510m) and after a short walking, you will arrive at Tikhedunga, where you will spend the overnight at guest house.
The trail crosses the Tikhedunga River on a suspension bridge, then drops and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1520m. The trail ascends on a stone staircase that is said to have more than 3300 steps. The unrelenting staircase continues to the large Magar village of Ulleri (2080m). From Ulleri the trail gently climbs through pastures and cultivated fields. You walk up beside the cascading river through refreshingly cool oak and Rhododendron forest. The trail crosses two sparkling clear streams, a small ridge, and another stream before making a short climb to Nangathanti (2460m). We have a little rest with lunch here at Nangathanti. In winter the trail can be covered with snow. The day destination Ghorepani (2750m) is reached after about an hour past Nangathanti.
Most people rise before dawn the following day to make the early-morning excursion to Poon Hill (3210m), one of the best Himalaya viewpoints in Nepal, provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. The spectacular panorama stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8167m) and Tukuche (6920m) to Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiuchhuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m). Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m) and the Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhre 6997m) make your breath and eyes caught. Watching the beautiful sunrise is a defining moment with lots of pleasure and tranquility. After breakfast, our trek to Tadapani starts. A short early morning climb to the Deurali pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The trail descends steeply through the dense moss-covered forest with rich bird life to Tadapani which also provides a close-up sunset view.
Today the trekking trail descends steeply through rhododendron forests to Baise Kharka. You can encounter monkeys and wide varieties of birds. The right-hand trail makes a short, steep descent among rocks to a stream crossing then leads out a ridge towards Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. You can explore the maze-like streets of this thriving Gurung settlement. Enjoying a good mountain view of Annapurna South and Fishtail, you can spend an overnight here in the guest house. After lunch in Ghandruk The trail passes through small hamlets, terraced rice fields and subtropical forests giving a very beautiful glimpse. We will mostly follow the ever-flowing Modi Khola with an easy and pleasant walk to Birethanti. The trail makes a flat- steep descent alongside to the stream. We continue our walk to Nayapul and catch a private vehicle to get to Pokhara you will be transferred to your hotel and you will say goodbye to your guide and porter.
You can take a fight or take a drive to Kathmandu. In the evening you can have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali cultural dinner show, taking some beautiful snaps and making up your mind about the returning journey. You can have greetings exchanging among friends and with all Nepalese people. This package includes only bus service from Pokhara to Kathmandu and for the flight you need to pay an additional USD 123 per person
