Today your safari takes you to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most fascinating parks. The Tarangire River attracts giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes, which in turn draw lions, making sightings of predators likely. During the dry season, the river is often the only water source for many kilometers, bringing large herds of elephants. Tarangire hosts the largest elephant population in Northern Tanzania for much of the year (especially June–October and December–March). These gentle giants are naturally curious and often approach safari vehicles closely. This is safe, as elephants have no natural predators here and their behavior is calm and inquisitive, offering a unique up-close wildlife experience.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater
The legendary Ngorongoro Crater! Here you will witness tens of thousands of wild animals living in the massive crater left by a huge ancient volcano. The actual crater is relatively small, when you consider that it is home to the most variety of animals per square meter than anywhere else in the world! Here, you are sure to see a great number of animals within close proximity to one another. The descent into the crater will take about half an hour of driving. The road passes through beautiful, lush forests with great scenery. After your morning game drive around the crater, you will stop at the picnic area next to Lake Magadi for a snack and rest. One of the draws of Lake Magadi are the hippos that live in the area. You’re sure to enjoy watching them while you eat lunch. Due to the large number of animals and endemic plants, Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and renowned for its natural significance in the world.

Day 4
Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will start the safari by being transferred to the central part of the Serengeti, known as Seronera. Here, your driver will try to find the animals you're most interested in. Closer to lunchtime, you can visit the Serengeti Visitor Center, where you will be offered a lunchbox and provided with lots of interesting information not only about the animals’ populations but also about the history of the National Park. Also, in this area you will be able to see hyraxes, which are the elephant's closest relatives. Alternatively, we also recommend getting back to your camp for a quick lunch and nap before restarting the safari before sunset to enjoy the golden hour. Serengeti wildlife numbers in thousands: elephants, buffalo, ostriches, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, lions, antelopes, leopards, and cheetahs—just keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the nature around you.

Serengeti National Park
Kogatende is located in the northeastern part of Serengeti National Park. Although there are a lot of animals and stunning panoramic views, because of its remote location, tourists rarely come to this part of the park. That is why we love bringing Altezza Travel travelers here: it makes for an exclusive tour with few other vehicles to disturb your quiet safari. Many species of African antelopes live in Kogatende: powerful canna, small dik-diks, bearded wildebeests, kudu with their large horns and slender impalas. Your guide will share in-depth information about each of these species. Here you will also see large herds of giraffes, zebras and buffaloes, which are attracted by the nearby Mara River for water, allowing you to get up-close photos of these animals.

Another day to enjoy the vast plains of Serengeti! This park is a huge space, brimming with life. It is impossible to view it all in one day; today, your guide will show you new places and interesting animals, so that you can get a full perspective. After the safari, you'll embark on an unforgettable adventure: an airplane flight over the picturesque landscapes of Tanzania. If you'd like to have a short morning game-drive, we recommend that you have breakfast as early as possible — the guide will try to find exciting animal sightings on the way to the airstrip. Another option is to pack up without a rush, have breakfast and leave the lodge in time for your departure flight. You can choose what's best for you on the spot - the guide will accommodate your wish!

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport in time for your flight. Standard hotel check-out time is 10:00 AM. If you are not flying out on this day and have other plans, please inform us when booking. We can customize your program according to your schedule.
