Join the small group food tour of Mexico City limited to just 8 guests. Set in Coyoacán, one of the capital’s most historic neighbourhoods, the experience moves beyond the main squares into markets, side streets, and long-standing local spots that most visitors never reach.
With 12+ tastings across 7–8 stops, the tour is designed to provide guests with a crash course in Mexico City's local food scene from street-side classics and masa-based dishes to slow-cooked meats, regional specialities, and traditional sweets.
Coyoacán itself plays a big part. Its pace is slower, its food more rooted in tradition, and its markets still function as everyday hubs for the community. Walking through it with a knowledgeable tastemaker guide gives context to what you’re eating how dishes are made, where ingredients come from, and why they are so beloved by locals.

Our Mexico City food tour offers guests a culinary experience carefully curated food adventure, led by our team of Mexico City tastemakers. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, and the limitations of street food vendors and local eateries mean we cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian and halal diets, and severe allergies as the number of tastings would be very limited. ✔ No pork diets, no seafood diets, gluten intolerance, mild tree nut and peanut allergies are possible though some tastings do not have alternatives available and the menu would be more limited
Step into Coyoacán, Frida Kahlo’s bohemian neighbourhood, where cobbled streets, leafy plazas, and busy markets set the pace of daily life. Over four hours and 12+ tastings, you’ll move through the district’s local stalls and long-standing eateries, where the smell of fresh masa and slow-cooked fillings drifts through the air. You’ll start with classic street dishes before working deeper into the neighbourhood, tasting the foods locals return to at lunchtime from rich mole and tender barbacoa to quesadillas filled with huitlacoche and crisp, golden masa snacks. Along the way, you’ll pause for café de olla, watch tortillas being made fresh, and finish with churros and flan de cajeta. This isn’t about fine dining. It’s a in-depth look at the flavours of Mexico City curated and led by local tastemakers.
The tour concludes after 3.5-4 hours. You'll leave not only full, but with a much deeper understanding of Mexico City food culture and the confidence to continue eating your way through Mexico.
