Surfing involves much more than standing on a board—it requires understanding wave movement, timing, positioning, and ocean awareness. Your instructor adapts the lesson to your experience level, helping you build confidence and improve technique at a comfortable pace.

What's Included
Meeting and pickup
• Complimentary round-trip transportation is available from hotels in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor
• If your hotel is not listed, feel free to contact us so we can check transportation availability for your area
• Guests arriving with their own vehicle may meet directly at Costa Azul Beach (Zippers Parking Area), where the surfing lesson begins from the beach
• Hotels outside the main tourist area, including Hard Rock, Nobu, Rancho San Lucas, Diamante, or Four Seasons, are not included in complimentary transportation and will meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas
• Cruise guests will also meet at Plaza Gali OXXO, approximately 3–5 minutes walking from the marina exit. Detailed walking directions will be provided with your confirmation message
• Cabo San Lucas cruise arrivals operate using tender boats, which may take additional time depending on port operations. We strongly recommend taking the earliest tender available or booking priority tender service whenever possible
• Guests who miss transportation or arrive late must arrive directly at Costa Azul Beach before the activity start time at their own expense
Guests arriving with their own vehicle usually meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas. The activity starts at Costa Azul Beach in San José del Cabo. Please let us know in advance which location you prefer so we can provide your exact meeting time and instructions.
What to expect
The experience begins on the beach with an introduction to ocean safety, paddling, positioning, and wave selection before putting those fundamentals into practice in the water. Throughout the session, your instructor provides continuous guidance, helping you improve balance, timing, confidence, and overall surfing technique.

With more opportunities to catch waves and receive direct coaching, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of surfing while enjoying the warm waters and scenic coastline of Costa Azul. - Surf lessons operate seasonally approximately from March 15 through November 15 based on seasonal swell conditions
- Morning departures are usually recommended for cleaner and more consistent surf conditions
- This experience requires favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to unsafe weather, ocean conditions, or operational restrictions, guests will be offered an alternative date or full refund
- No locker facilities are available, but belongings may usually remain inside the transportation vehicle during the activity
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems, pregnancy, or serious heart conditions
- Participants under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not allowed
- Medical refund requests require an official same-day doctor’s certificate and prior notification before activity start time
