Drive through the lush green rolling hills of the Emme Valley with typical Bernese farmhouses in abundance. Stop at probably the most famous “swiss cheese with holes” place in Switzerland. See the production and sample some of the delicious cheese itself.
Drive to the Lueg Memorial and walk up to the viewing place and monument offering spectacular views of the Alps from a far.
The journey then takes us onto the Nations Capital city Bern. First for a panaromic view over the city, visit the Rosengarden, a beautiful park with over 250 varieties of roses on offer in summer. Park at the famous Bear enclosure and see the symbol of the city who have been here since the 15th century.
Visit the 15th century built gothic style Cathedral, the tallest church at 100m and stroll past a house where Einstein lived in the early 1900s. You will then be infront of the Zytglogge (Clock Tower) ideally on the hour.
If you want to cool off, why not join the locals and swim or float in the River Aare.
