In Pompeii, it still feels like you can hear the voices of its ancient inhabitants. Stepping into their homes stirs an emotion that leaves no room for imagination — they are the clearest testimony of life in ancient Rome.
It’s as if the eruption of Vesuvius captured a snapshot of Pompeii’s final moment. That “negative,” preserved beneath ash and pumice, has come to us perfectly intact. There’s no other place in the world quite as haunting and fascinating.
The casts of fleeing citizens are both brutal and captivating — powerful scenes that evoke fear and awe. They embody the final breath of a city that died... yet lives forever.

What to expect

Together with a certified guide, we’ll explore ancient Pompeii — the largest archaeological site in the world.
We’ll walk along the wide stone streets lined with houses, taverns, bakeries, and shops. We’ll slip into narrow alleys that hide brothels and patrician villas, visit theaters, gyms, baths, and marketplaces, until we reach the Forum — the political and cultural heart of the city.
The interiors of the houses are adorned with stunning frescoes (like those of the extraordinary Villa of the Mysteries) and intricate mosaics. Even graffiti left by the people can still be read on the walls — a city alive with emotion and passion.
Goosebumps are guaranteed at the sight of the plaster casts of Pompeii’s last inhabitants: their final breaths frozen in time by the ashes. You’ll see people fleeing in despair, others embracing, women and children curled up, bodies twisted by toxic gases — even a dog still chained to its leash.
These are the raw, tragic, and most powerful images of the catastrophe that buried Pompeii and made it eternal.
