Mount Manaslu (8163m) is the eighth highest peaks in the world. Officially the Manaslu trekking trail was opened for trekking only in 1992 AD. Since then the trail is as popular as Annapurna circuit trek, trekkers also take alternative trails of Annapurna circuit trek. This trail is still pristine and unspoiled trekking region in Nepal: experience the unique cultural heritage, breathtaking Himalayas views, varieties of landscape, high altitude dreamy glacier lakes and enthralling floras and faunas.
Manaslu trek is undoubtedly one of best trekking trails in Nepal. It is close-by the China territory. The region has controlled by the government which means the trekkers heading to Manaslu needs to issue a special permit by every single trekker. Trekking guide for the trekking is necessary. Generally our trek starts with a day drive from Kathmandu to Arughat and follows the trail to the maximum elevation up to the Larkya pass at (5,420 m).
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, meet our representative who will assist you transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. The hotel lies at the heart of Kathmandu and is 7 km away from airport. Check-in the hotel and visit our office for orientation program.
We will collect your original passport for the paperwork regarding the MCAP permit and government approvals. Until then, you will do sightseeing at Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur Durbar Square by private vehicle. By evening, we will return you back your passport and permits.
Early morning, the guide will pick you up and take a tourist bus/coach. Drive to Arughat while enjoying the scenic view of amazing countryside, landscapes, rivers and rural lifestyle. After six hours of drive, reach Arughat bazar which is the entry point for Manaslu and Tsum valley.
After the breakfast, drive to Soti Khola by local bus. It takes 2 hours to reach Soti Khola where your trek starts.
Start the trek from Machhakhola. Walk through the terraced rice fields, beautiful waterfalls and a glance of Himalaya. Take a lunch break at Liding and continue the trek. It takes 5 hrs of overall walking.
Trek to Jagat following the Budi Gandaki river and submit your MCAP permit at check point. The village is settled by Gurung community along with cultural lifestyle. At evening, stroll around the village.
Trek through Dudh Pokhari river and lunch en-route at Philim which has nice teahouses. Most of the travelers stay at Philim for Tsum valley. Continue your trek from Philim to Deng which takes 4 hours or more.
Trek continuously climbs and dives until Bihi Phedi. Have a lunch at Bihi Phedi and trek to Namrung. Namrung has camping areas and security checkpoint. From this village, the people are mostly of Tibetan origins.
Observe a Ganesh Himal view and some Tibetan monasteries on the trail. You can explore the monastery since its only 4 hours of walking today. Lunch en-route at Lihi and explore the beautiful villages.
Trek through the steeply down of landslip area so careful when you're walking. Lunch en-route at Syala, with the Himalaya view. After couple of hours reach Samagaon and prepare for the excursion.
As you reach Samagaun, prepare for the excursion. Walk to the Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m) and spend some hours. From here you can enjoy the close up view of Mt. Manaslu (8,156m) and surrounding mountains. Hike back to Samagaun for the overnight stay.
From Samagaon to Samdo, the trail has a flat land while west of the trail has the hidden glacial lake. After 4 hours of walking, you will reach Samdo. You can see the eastern cliff of Samdo peak from here. Overnight at mountain lodge in Samdo.
Wake up early morning and leave the mountain lodge by 4:30 am along with packed breakfast and lunch. Make sure you have wore a good warm clothing as the pass is very cold and windy. After 4 hours, you will reach Larkya Pedi (4460m) which is the bottom side of the pass. Have your packed breakfast and ascend to the Larkya La pass (5,160 m)
From Larkya-La pass trek down to the Bimtang, which will take nearly 8 hours. Eat your packed lunch en-route. It will get dark on reaching Bimthang. Take dinner and a sound sleep in Bimthang.
Climb the small ridge south of the village for a view of the blue/green lake below the moraine. Start the trek while lunch at Kharche. The trek continues through some bamboo forest to reach Tilje. Overnight stay at mountain lodge in Tilje.
Trek through the river and wheat fields into Thonje. You can visit the monastery in this small village. Take your lunch and continue the trek. Overnight at mountain lodge in Tilje.
Drive 3 hours to Besisahar which is the district headquarter of Lamjung. You can find most of the amenities on your needs. Take a lunch break in Besisahar.
After the lunch, take another bus and enjoy another 5 hours of scenic drive to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Drive to airport and fly onward to your journey
