It is the stage for numerous internationally significant events related to the mountains and winter sports. It hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics and, together with Milan, will host the 2026 Games. Il lago di Braies è sempre accessibile anche d'inverno (da fine dicembre a fine marzo il lago è completamente ghiacciato)
(Winter Season Only) During the winter season, it is possible to go up to higher altitudes by snowmobile to take some photos, reaching up to 2,325 meters, and then descend by snowmobile or sled (total one-way route of approximately 7 km).
