The tour offer ample opportunities to soak up the cultural and natural beauties of Bhutan that is so unique from the rest of the world. The colorful Paro is up for breathtaking natural sights and cultural richness such as spotting Mt. Jhomolhari from the Drugyel Dzong, capture Paro’s remarkable landscapes from Ta-Dzong and the prime feature of the tour- hike up to the Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ perched in a hillside. Thimphu is blessed with colorful festivals, legendary monasteries and coveted cultural sites. Witness the local everyday lives of Bhutanese and their craftsmanship by strolling around the streets of Thimphu.

What to expect

Day 01: Arrival at Paro (2250m) - Thimphu (2350m)

Arrive Paro clear customs and visa formalities meet our representatives and transfer to Paro for lunch. Then drive to Thimphu (1 hour) following Pa Chhu downstream. In Thimphu, drive on to the Buddha Terrance for a stunning view of the valley and take a drive to visit Takin Preserve to see Takin, Bhutan’s national animal - a strange looking beast which some say resembles a beestung moose! Take a view of the majestic Tashichoe Dzong, the seat of the government before circumventing the Memorial Chorten – a monument erected in memory of Bhutan’s third king H.M. Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Visit Centenary Farmers Market, the new authentic craft bazaar, National Institute of Traditional Medicine that still dispenses traditional herbal medicines to the locals, the Folk Heritage Museum – a 300 year old traditional house converted into a museum.

Day 02: Thimphu - Day tour to Punakha (1,310m) - Thimphu (2350m)

After breakfast, drive towards Punakha crossing over Dochula pass (3140m) which offer majestic Himalayan views of the eastern mountains during a clear day. En-route, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang located atop a hill amid rice fields. The temple is dedicated to Drukpa Kunely and also popularly known as the fertility temple. Afterwards, drive towards Punkaha and visit the Punakha Dzong arguably the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan. Afterwards, drive back to Thimphu. Overnight at Hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 03: Thimphu - Paro & Hike to Taktsang Monastery 'Tiger's Nest' (3120m)

Drive towards Thimphu and further drive to the base camp of Taktsang for the hike up to the Taktsang Monastery-Tiger's Nest. It's about two hours hike up the cafeteria. From this point, enjoy the spectacular view of the monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in 8th century. Then visit the Taktsang main Monastery and hike back to the road point then drive to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan. Afterwards, visit Rinpung Dzong built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan. Later on, back to hotel. 

Day 04: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch the onward flight. Bid farewell to the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom disappearing again behind its guardian mountains.
